Success Follows Happiness – Simple Success Formula

Success follows happiness – so first be happy, and success will follow.  If you do it the other way around, you’ll find that your successes never make you as happy as you expected. Here’s proof.

One of the greatest things about hanging out with Stuart and Jay are the pearls of wisdom that just seem to flow effortlessly from them.  In this case, it was Stuart’s keynote address as the recent SFM Momentum Day, where he highlighted among other things, how success follows happiness.

Like most other people, I grew up thinking that when I get successful I will be happy…

…but that wasn’t the case at all. I knew that for a fact, since I was incredibly successful in my chosen area of law, but I don’t recall being a particularly happy person. You see, if you keep working for a specific goal, once you hit it, you realize that it was a bit of an anti-climax. And if you keep repeating that pattern, you’ll just end up being a miserable person, because you’ll find that nothing satisfies.

Now, that’s just proven that happiness doesn’t follow success.  But it doesn’t prove that success follows happiness.  So, I should share this. When I first became an affiliate marketer, I started off not being particularly successful, and at a retreat in June this year, I was taught by my SFM mentors to prioritize happiness. They said, do the things that make me happy daily, prioritize those things and success will follow, simply because success follows happiness. And so I did, and the rest, as they say, is history.  I went on to more than replace my lawyer’s salary, while being happy, to boot!

I’ve found that happiness follows success is particularly true in this industry…

…where authenticity is such a big part of our success. I don’t ever feel like I’m selling anything. I just be myself online, be happy doing the things I do, and people want what I have. If you noticed, that secret ingredient is being happy.

And so, later that afternoon at Momentum Day, when I had a chance to share my experience, I agreed fully with what Stuart spoke to earlier that morning, that success follows happiness. I shared my experience after the retreat in Bali in June. I must emphasize that it wasn’t a case of ‘fake it till you make it’.  In fact, the first person I made a high ticket sale to was in that conference. And I told the conference this – before she bought that high ticket item from me, she asked me if I had ever sold anything like that before, and I said honestly, no I had not. But she said she wanted to buy it anyway because of everything I represented, including happiness.
