Taking a step back in order to move forward

Taking a step back in order to move forward

Never feel that you’re too busy to do what’s truly important to you. It might take even more work, but if you prioritise happiness, you’ll love it! Read on.

I’ve been asked this alot recently, so I thought I’d share this with you…

Sometimes you need to allow yourself to take a step back in order to be able to take several steps forward.

A classic example is this email I get all the time…

A person, typically a busy executive wants to start an online business for the same reasons I did.

They have a strong desire to get out of the rat race, spend more time with family, to have time for their own passions, pursuits, etc.

But they’re too busy.

Work is already taking them away from all of these things.

And learning to start a business on top of that, is just going to make things worse.

So they never do anything about it, or they take a little step and then give up.

Guess what happens then?

They’re going to be busy with work their whole lives, and never have time for any of those things that are so important to them.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against being busy.

But you should be busy working towards your goals – whether that’s to be home with your family more, participating in a mission or charity, or just mastering a hobby…

If you’re not working towards your goals, you’re working towards someone else’s goals.

And in the interim, when you start working towards you’re goals, you’re going to be busier…

But just imagine what life will be like once you’ve actually achieved your goals to be home, or be involved in social work or mastering that hobby.

Will it be worth the temporary additional work?

For me, it was a resounding “yes”.  I put in the work to build this, and replaced my corporate lawyer’s income in 6 months.

I now work from home, on things that I’m truly passionate about

And I can tell you that the moment you’re working towards your true goals, it won’t feel like a struggle.

That’s because you’ll achieve your true goals, which will make you happy, only by learning to “prioritise happiness” – the moment you learn to do that, you’ll be working towards your goals, and it’ll feel effortless.

Make sense?

If it did, learn to prioritise your goals and your happiness, and watch your business and life truly flourish!
