Fear of technology isn’t a handicap in an online business. This writer still fears technology after running a successful online business for years!

I get used to thinking of myself as an online business owner, and sometimes think (complacently) that technology is a part of my life.

A bit of news this week made me ponder that…

The power of Computer Generated Imagery, has James Dean starring in a new film 64 years after his death!

More on that later, but in the meantime, let me just say that I caught myself thinking…

… “What is this word coming to?

Fear of technology is a very common issue our students face in starting their online businesses.

I’ve run a successful online business for almost 4 years now, and as you can see, I’m certainly no different.

I say that in the present tense.  In fact, just a couple of days ago, I made terrible technology mistake that caused me a couple of sleepless nights.

But, thank God, I recovered from that mistake, and learnt from it.

And if you’ve attended any of my “live” webinars or coaching calls recently, you’ll have noticed, how I still struggle to make technology work for me exactly the way I want to.

In my mind, that just proves to all my students that you don’t need to be a technology whiz to make a good living online.

However, technology has enabled me and many others, to create home businesses that we are proud of, and that gives us the time and finances to pursue our true passions.

The converse is also true.

If we choose not to embrace and learn new technologies, we will find ourselves getting left behind.

The news of James Dean is being “cast” in a new film, Finding Jack, 64 years after his death, brought about several different views.

There are different views on that, some applaud the technology, others feel it is disrespectful.

Whatever your view, technology progresses, and we’ll never be able to ignore it.

We can choose to bury our heads, and let technology pass us by, hoping we’ll never be affected by it, or we can choose to embrace it, and use it to model our lives into something that we truly want our lives to be.

I say this as someone who’s done just that, and to encourage you to do the same.

Life can be what we want it to be, thanks largely to the power of technology.

When I first started, I was a successful corporate lawyer at the top of my game.

I had secretaries and assistants print emails which I would dictate replies to.

So if you’re reading this email on your own, you’re already ahead of me, where I was at the time.

It would then follow, that if I can do this, you can too.
